ALEXIS SÁNCHEZ
Paint
Alexis Sánchez was born in 1997 in Huelva (Spain), where he studied wood carving at the León Ortega art school.
Later he moved to Seville where he studied Fine Arts at the University. At the same time, he participates in various exhibitions throughout the local geography, also belonging to research groups associated with the faculty. His last year of training is at the École de Beaux-arts in Nantes, France, where he comes into contact with renowned artists.
He finally graduates from the Master of Interdisciplinary Artistic Production awarded by the University of Malaga.
In his work, Alexis conducts research, from an autobiographical point of view, to identify what elements have allowed him to generate a particular identity over time.
The development of his own identity exists thanks to the imagery coming from the Internet, which, little by little, has made its way into his life to the point of invading his own room.
Alexis' personal creative process is based almost exclusively on the self-reference section, where he uses individual subjective experience while using iconography with which, today, young people identify, such as manga and anime. . His work continues to find its own color, since there is no definition of identity in itself, but rather it transmits a message in a state of confusion in which there is no clear syntax. There are signs but no words to decipher. He does it by mixing figurative drawing registers with the flatter paintings, combining tradition and contemporaneity, which results in a kind of collage. He arranges the figures creating a fictitious space in which an imedimento is glimpsed
for narration. As can be recognized, they are interspersed with characters and symbols from art and popular culture.
In short, its main objective is to expose the liquidity between the virtual and real worlds.
