CONTEST
About the competition
The international competition of children's painting and drawing, ”Emotions”, aims to create
conditions for identifying the creative potential of children and asserting it through an exhibition
of the best works in the Art Nika gallery.
The aim of the competition is to develop children's minds through artistic means, cultivating an
understanding of their character, actions, interaction with friends and parents, and the world
around them.
Dear friends,

This spring, Art Gallery Nika held an international Young Artists Competition for the first time. It's time to take stock. These results are very inspiring for us.
The theme of the contest was "Emotions". The participants were young talents between the ages of 8 and 18. The works in the Drawing and Painting categories were accepted for consideration. The results were summed up by a respected jury, which selected the winner for each of the nominations in each age group (from 8 to 10 years old, from 11 to 13 years old, 14-15 years old and from 16 to 18 years old). The contestants showed high activity and great interest in the event. We even had to extend the deadline for the provision of works for half a month to give everyone the opportunity to participate.

By April 30, we had received more than 180 works from young artists from various educational institutions and various countries for the competition. We express our sincere gratitude to all participants.
From May 1 to May 15, our esteemed jury worked to determine the winners. As a first step, the jury selected those works that made it to the second round of the competition. This short list includes the works of 54 participants. The main winners are currently being determined from among them.
The names of the winners will be presented at a ceremony on June 1, 2024.
In addition, we asked the friends of our gallery to mark the works they liked the most.
The winners will receive memorable prizes and gifts from the organizers of the competition. But the main gift to all the young artists who passed the second round is participation in the exhibition. Their works will be exhibited at Art Gallery NIKA on the day of the summing up. The nominees of the gallery's friends will also receive this honor. And the works of the winners will be exhibited in the gallery until June 10, they will also be available for purchase by all interested art lovers.

We would like to express special gratitude to the members of the jury. It consisted of:
- Iwona Malewicz, granddaughter and spiritual heiress of Kazimir Malevich, official representative of the Malevicz family, initiator and organizer of many cultural events.
- Walter Francia is the artistic director of the NAVE 91 Gallery (Archidona), curator of numerous exhibitions.
- Manuel Callejón is the head of El Ateneo de Málaga, one of the most important cultural and artistic heritage promotion centers in Malaga.

Emotions are a powerful and universal language that we use to interact in the world. It is often
difficult for us to express emotions in words, and this is where art comes into its own. Artists,
using various artistic techniques and styles, are able to convey the full range of experiences,
creating works that can speak without words.
We invite young artists to submit their works to the Competition, which will reflect the emotional
world and at the same time evoke a variety of feelings in the audience. Whether it's lyrical
melancholy, cheeky fun, tremulous tenderness or a storm of passion — each work should have
its own unique shade of emotion, enriching the gallery space and giving the audience a unique
experience.
