“Presente” brings together a selection of works by the artist (1938–2014), inviting viewers to delve into the intimate and luminous dimension of his creative universe. The exhibition proposes a reading centered on his inner world: a territory marked by serenity, compositional balance, and a chromatic vibration that unfolds with restrained harmony.

Born in Tetouan and associated with the so-called "School of Tetouan"—a space of exchange between Spanish and Moroccan artists—Ruano developed a career of broad international significance. His work spanned painting, muralism, architecture, and design, shaping a solid artistic language that dialogues with abstraction and Mediterranean sensitivity. His oeuvre is part of major institutional collections, such as the Spanish Museum of Abstract Art, the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving, and the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Foundation, among others. He was also honored with distinctions such as the Medal of the City of Málaga and the Gold Medal of the Ateneo de Málaga.

“Presente” situates his legacy within an active temporality: painting as a space of permanence. The selected works reveal a constant exploration of color as an emotional structure and form as a plastic respiration.
