Painting

My mind functions like a spiral, always returning to the same themes but with a different vision. In these works, the sea is the core idea; I seek to find the place and the moment where it merges with the sky. In the marshlands, there is so much both in front and behind that neither beginning nor end exists. The sea loses itself among small, vulnerable patches of earth. The marshes are an uncoordinated habitat that mankind has learned to inhabit—a collection, an alignment of events where the tide is no longer land and not yet sea.

The sea is the dream of any sky, an endless mirror of water, a binomial I love to play with. Geometrically, it can be viewed from above or below through composition, color, and the play of reflections; they are parallel worlds where I work with the boundaries of the sea and the sky.

I work with mixed media using pigments and collage, treating the canvas support as an additional material—pulling threads or intervening and integrating it into the landscape. I also use wood as a support because it withstands collage with diverse materials and thicker textures. With this project, I would like to bring the viewer closer to everything that is known yet difficult to explain, using geometry and color in both their abstract and concrete forms.
